About Exmouth Town FC.
Exmouth Town Football Club, established in 1933, quickly demonstrated its potential, becoming runners-up in the Exeter & District League Premier Division in 1949–50. The following season, 1950–51, was particularly successful as they clinched both the Devon Senior Cup and the East Devon Senior Cup. After rejoining the Premier Division in 1961, they continued to impress, finishing as runners-up in 1968–69 and securing the Devon Premier Cup in 1970–71. Their consistent high performance, including another runners-up finish in 1971–72, paved the way for their advancement to the Western League in 1973. Throughout the 1980s, Exmouth Town truly shone, winning the Devon Premier Cup for a second time in 1979–80. They gained promotion to the Western League Premier Division in 1981–82 as runners-up and then gloriously claimed the league championship in both 1983–84 and 1985–86. Further triumphs included runners-up finishes in 1986–87 and 1988–89, the latter also seeing them win the Les Phillips Cup. They commendably returned to the Premier Division in 2002–03 after finishing as Division One runners-up.
After a period of regrouping, Exmouth re-emerged as a formidable force, becoming a founder member of the South West Peninsula League Division One East. Their resurgence was highlighted by winning the division in 2012–13, earning promotion to the Premier Division, a season which also saw them lift the Devon Premier Cup for an impressive third time. They continued their strong form, finishing as Premier Division runners-up in the following season. Most recently, Exmouth Town achieved a significant milestone in the 2021–22 season, securing promotion to Division One South of the Southern League after another excellent runners-up finish in the Premier Division, marking a proud moment in their history.
